A Day Dream
The people we cast in our dreams are said to represent aspects of ourselves. Lately, I’ve been bringing my dream work into the day by paying attention to who shows up in my waking dreams and examining what message they might reveal. During the best exchanges with another, I learn something new about them (and visa versa), but if I don’t, I sometimes find myself spontaneously practicing dream translation. That’s when I quietly change the pronouns used to talk about other people from “you,” “they” and “we” to “I” and “me.” I hear a whole new level of meaning that way that is usually more interesting and truthful.

Well, whatever works I guess. I had a dream about a baby owl and I. We were playing together and having a gay old time. Wonder what that means?

I’d guess it was something about developing your playful, wise and nurturing side (since it was a baby owl).
