Love’s Currency
Our love is a busy venture
when we lay around
we get a lot done
We’re lavished in summer
made golden
by a fortune
of wealthy sun
We’re minting coins
impressed with each other
How richly we spend
our time

Yes, how richly we DO spend our time! Nice to see you, Colleen.

This was written sometime in the mid ’90s when I was most prolific and still newly in love. Love still holds up.

“How richly we spend our time”….such lovely words……..I can feel the wealth of happiness and togetherness………..and am happy it still holds up. Smiles.

Couldn’t help but think of ‘Strange Currencies’ and yet your poem seems to illustrate the honest exchange of true love – which can make us feel very rich indeed
