Remember When We Used to Wear Coats?
We use to wear coats in November
and October was the red carpet celebrity of Fall
Now the spread of red creeps slowly in November
and the glimmer of gold turns quickly to rust

however, forty years ago we had a very late Indian Summer up here and no frost, and for thanksgiving dinner we had celery from our garden.
We’ve lately had cold mornings, though, and its steadily around the low twenties.
It’s a funny month, sometimes we’ve already had our first snow, sometimes it’s just balmy.
I will agree, though, the light show of leaves has gone on for over a month, and it’s been elegant. No complaints there.

We’ve have record warm temperatures here, which caused me to recently say to someone, “Remember when we used to wear coats?” The foliage has not been as colorful as years past.

Our foliage was surprisingly nice at the house this year, although we never get the great show that the mountains have. It has been much less cold though.

Lovely. Crazy weather this year for sure. We’ve seen temps 10-20 above normal this month, and finally had our first freeze Tuesday night — which seems appropriate since Hell obviously froze over that night.
