Predator Politics
You cried wolf
Now you got one
Pandora’s Box
can’t be re-locked
There is no hiding
in sheep’s clothing
The little pig’s house
is coming down
Red Riding Hood
is left in the woods
The blood of democracy
has been drawn
The bite is always
worse than the bark
and wolves scenting power
travel in packs

It’s been a wave going around the earth… it has to stop one day… it has to stop.

days wait with bated breath…quite scary images here….

Wish it weren’t true.

I am grieving for our country, and for our threatened world.
December 4th, 2016 2:38 pm
Yes, this is exactly how it feels. Better start building our brick houses. And readying the boiling pot of water for the wolf’s tail. LOL.

Shedding tears . Your words are so true so sad so scary.

Red Riding Hood is dead, indeed. And all those who watched her scream in fear and pain are now wondering what happened.
Your poem makes me want to pump my fist in the air, while breathing out all sorts of rage.

Good grief! Lock your door, lock and load, and wait in prayer. Or, open the door and take the first shot that never makes it to your heart.
I love your “stuff” it always makes me think… wait a minute… I don’t want to think 🙂 (being silly)

The bite is always
worse than the bark… strong words. Still there seems to be a global shift representing deep discontent.
December 5th, 2016 2:31 am
Well said – and sadly true.

What a clever use of magic realism.. it certainly feels as if the wolves are out in force

This brings such deep emotion stirring from within! Powerfully penned.

I never believed that “Bark worse than bite” stuff. It was a lie even back in the days when there was still public truth. You captured the contemporary environment, for sure.
December 6th, 2016 1:46 pm
This is neat! How aptly the popular idioms apply to politics nowadays.
December 6th, 2016 3:21 pm
Well said. I’m not a supporter but I hope he succeeds in doing useful things. Why? Because I live and will see the effects – good and/or bad.

“and wolves scenting power
travel in packs” I hate to denigrate the wolves like this but it is true of politicians. Nice use of fairy tale to highlight reality
December 6th, 2016 8:27 pm
Scathing – and sadly accurate.
December 6th, 2016 11:12 pm
You’ve captured this perfectly.

and wolves scenting power
travel in packs
Very aptly described the marauding gangs of greedy entrepreneurs aided by the politicians who support their cause!

Colleen Ma’am,
You had previously commented so many times on my postings and I had returned them likewise. But sadly they were not registered at your blog. I tried Google and twitter through WordPress but to no avail. And finally today I got it! Hank had experimented with twitter in alternative ways and am now successful. Hank is so elated!
