Day Job
A dream
A sunbeam
An omelet
with olives
A new poem
The news
A dustpan
and broom
A stitched hem
A stack of kindling
A teapot
turned cold
A bird steals
a corn kernel
from the chicken
coop bowl

Your last stanza, brought a huge smile, to me, as I remember my late Opa, and his disdain towards corn, as being chicken feed, thus would never eat it. He died, on my 14th birthday, so many years ago.
