Weather Dilemma in March
_______These were taken a week ago. It was no bluff. We lost our forsythia and daffodil blooms from the frigid temperatures that followed the light snow. / Our World Tuesday

Sorry about the poor early spring flowers, doggone it. Even in Oregon, much milder temperatures, early spring was always a gamble. A hard rain could and often did knock those forsythia and daffodils to bits right at the prime of their bloom. Still it was worth it and I would love to have a pot of daffodils right now. (They’d expire from the humidity though.)

Wonderful blooms.

Sad, but it happens. The poor blossoms do make good photographs, though no consolation for the early risers.
Here. Teased with spring, then bam it is back. Maple sap is running here, and swans are passing through but it is still winter -no flora yawning and waking up. So I went to Cuba.

Cuba. Good enuff f’r Hemingway, good enuff for a dim wit such as I. A place amidst the stream, that causes me to think.
