Country Road Attractions
I rubberneck old churches and barns. The more peeled the paint, the better.
It’s like being drawn to old musty diaries with stories to tell and learn from.
I’m fascinated by keyholes and doorknobs like I want to unlock the meaning of dreams. I’ve always been an explorer of the hidden and think Pandora’s Box should have a happy ending.

Old barns, churches, lost cemeteries, gobbled up by woods or left for dead by urban sprawl . They will be extinct one day. Decades ago I spent some time photographing old buildings and barns with a ten x twelve pin hole camera. Each exposure required twenty to thirty minutes. But the process did justice to the subject.
The best roadside attractions, tend to be on roads/tracks which are an adventure unto themselves.
Old hinges and door knobs – but you gotta love the downward rust trail from nails.
