In Lieu of a Ticket to Sarasota or Paris
This is the lavender pathway that I slipped and sunk into, living for a few seconds in the scene, walking behind the mother and child, breathing in the flowers that were nearby.
And these are the peonies that that made me swoon and sigh.
Ever since I saw some Facebook photos of the Chagall exhibit that our friends were at in Sarasota, Florida, I’ve wanted to hop on a plane. But I saved ourselves the time, trouble and money by heading to the Taubman Museum in Roanoke to see the American Impressionism in the Garden exhibit.
Everything looks better with flowers.
After the museum, we strolled over to the Hotel Roanoke and got pampered like tourists with a grand and gourmet Easter Brunch Buffet with all the fixin’s. OMG. The Hotel Roanoke is now my new go-to Easter Brunch.
We talked about Italian Riviera next spring and how Monet’s Garden is just a short bus ride from Paris.
I drank a pot full of tea, no wine or beer, but I still felt drunk on luscious indulgence. It’s an Easter tradition. / Our World Tuesday
