It’s in the Bag
Once again our house was transformed over the weekend into a pottery gallery for the latest 16 Hands Studio Tour, spring 2017.
This year our son Josh, a 16 Hands member, hosted guest artist Joey Sheehan, who has done the show with Josh more than any other guest artist, but not quite as many times as Alex Baldwin has hosted Saturday Night Live.
Some of the pots, like these ones made by Josh, were too big to be put in bags.
But we didn’t have any pots this year that were big enough to put baby Pearl in to. Putting children in pots for photo-ops is a tradition at our house.
Someone commented that the artisan studio tour is also a tasting tour of treats.
At one point I think there were three baby tour-goers in the mix.
And at least one puppy.
Where’s the cinnamon? I call this a spice rack, but it’s really an exhibit display that Josh made of all the different wild clay he’s dug in North Carolina. Watch a video of Josh talking about it HERE.
This year tour goers were provided with tickets to stamp at each of the different studio tour locations, kind of like walking the Camino and collecting stamps to show that you completed the pilgrimage. The fully stamped 16 Hands tour tickets were turned in and eligible for door prizes, pots of course.
On either end of the porch, Joey and Josh’s wood-fired pots looked like display bookends.
My house, a log cabin, looks like it was made to be a pottery gallery.
The tour wound down by late afternoon on Sunday. See you back here for the fall tour! / Our World Tuesday
