We Sold Our Mother’s House
We sold it on her birthday, which made the pain of another goodbye seem also like a gift, given directly from her.
A special thanks to my brother Joey for his hard work on making it happen.

Wow, I can feel the coziness of the kitchen, in your mother’s day. And the dining room is a walk back in time. Life is such a series of losses – but also of richly remembered joy. Sigh.
Colleen, I don’t have your email address, would you please email me at wildwomantwo@gmail.com? Thanks, kiddo.

Agh. It used my wrong name. Hate when that happens!

Thanks, Sherry. I know it is a universal reality and pain as the dear people and the homes of our generation pass on.
That kitchen feels like a person with a life of its own to those of us who knew it so well.
I sent you my email.

The version which has her memories is so charming that I can see it in a movie…maybe something written by Pat Conroy ? It is a busy house and yet ot cluttered! I bet this was hard saying goodbye. I will post on Facebook a party for my dad and I do miss that house.

Yes, Tabor, lots of stories to tell. My dad always said his home was his castle. My mother was all about keeping her house clean and her garden weeded. She had a style for sure and made it very homey.
