The School of Passage Meditation
Sometimes it’s like writing in school detention
THE GREAT WAY HAS NO IMPEDEMENT
THE GREAT WAY HAS NO IMPEDMENT
100 times over on the blackboard of my mind
I’ll be restlessly counting and watching the clock
IT DOES NOT PICK AND CHOOSE
IT DOES NOT PICK AND CHOOSE
waiting to escape the confinement my desk
Other times it’s the ultimate education
ONCE YOU PLANT DEEPLY THE LONGING FOR PEACE
ONCE YOU PLANT DEEPLY THE LONGING FOR PEACE
and a firsthand knowledge sinks in
A mind contained leads to expansion
CONFUSION LEAVES ON ITS OWN
CONFUSION LEAVES ON ITS OWN
Congratulations, you’ve graduated
Begin again

Whew, this is one to read a few times. Deep thoughts, Colleen. Contemplative.

Once you plant deeply the longing for peace … indeed! An interesting poetry form you created! ?

It sounds like each session is another graduation… infinity is nothing else than new beginnings.

I love your use of capital letters. You say, “oh and by the way,” and then you say the words important. Each phrase important, repeated.

Beautifully done, the gaining, the brief stay and the begin again. This poem is pure wisdom, its images are illuminating.

I still feel that way… but now I just walk out… : )

Fantastic. Is it possible to meditate too much? Or wade into war, wielding that longing? Great write, C.

Each thought worthy of some lengthy contemplation. Wonderful.

I saw 2 poems within! I like this.
“THE GREAT WAY HAS NO IMPEDIMENT || IT DOES NOT PICK AND CHOOSE || ONCE YOU PLANT DEEPLY THE LONGING FOR PEACE || CONFUSION LEAVES ON ITS OWN”
What fun!

I love these wise teachings; thank you. And your conclusion, which raised a grin, reminds me of what one of my spiritual mentors used to say: “When you can do the sums, the teacher rubs them out and puts harder ones in the board.”

This sounds like a good mantra for all Americans at the moment as the country they once knew is being eroded with madness. How many more sleeps is it now before Christmas 2020 and hopefully a beautiful present?

I agree, this one is wonderfully deep and reflective!?

Oh so many times I have sat in meditation and wondered what I will have to repeat to learn the lesson in my words.
