13: Tell It
1. I read books with a pen in hand to mark the parts I want to save, and I read online with my mouse in hand to cut and paste as I go.
2. I can write in cursive, type without looking and once knew shorthand, but when it comes to emojis, I’m illiterate.
3. I think I have emoji face recognition disorder.
4. I don’t even like using my trademark xo anymore on Facebook because they make hearts fly out of it and I think that’s overkill.
5. The Floyd-based band Flirting with Chemicals was the 9th Annual Floyd Mardi Gras soundtrack to a lighted hoop show and dancers that included a troupe of Mystic Witches. – See what I mean at This is What Happens When You Flirt with Chemicals HERE.
6. Do you hear the spirit of jazz in pop today? No. People gave it up to chase money. When you go after Cîroc Vodka (P Diddy’s alcohol brand) and Phat Farm (Russell Simmons past fashion label) and all that shit, God walks out of the room. – Question posed to Quincy Jones in an interview with Vulture
7. Floyd’s Mickey G’s Bistro is serving meals with romantic titles for Valentine’s Day, like Romeo and Julietta, John and Yoko, Tony and Maria and Ellen and Portia. Mickey even has a dish called Billy and Joanne, who you wouldn’t know unless you live in Floyd.
8. Joe and Colleen, maybe next year?
9. I saw him was at a community gathering for Harmonic Convergence in Riner. I decided not to fight for a place in line to meet him. ‘He’s green but has nice energy,’ I thought. I actually met him at the laundry mat. Isn’t there a song for that? … Read more about how Joe and I first met and our first kiss at “Joe and Colleen Sitting in a Tree K-i-s-s-i-n-g” HERE.
10. Moving Day: Today I’m moving words / that have become / part of the furniture / I’m cutting the clutter / and repairing the wear / I’m taking junk to the dump / and rearranging the mood / I’m putting the elephant / in the middle of the room.
11. The story of my life: Last night I dreamt that the world was changing and we had to live in groups with other people. I, a homebody loner, was deciding if I would choose to live in a small room with a few people, or a larger room with many. I was thinking that a smaller room with few people might be less chaotic and more manageable, but it would also be harder to blend in or lose myself in such close quarters.
12. Why is it easier to paint the white lily black than to paint the black one white? – A comment I made on a poet bloggers poem
13. Don’t you wish more kids surfed the web like THIS?

I hate it when places like Facebook mess with the emojis. They never quite get it right.

I thought I’d already commented on the Chemical Hoopsters, but apparently not. My Beloved Sandra and I MUST come visit Floyd. We almost made solider plans once, but stuff got in the way. It always does. Bummer.
Me don’t do emoji stuff, nossir.

I don’t know the emoji stuff, either. I’d be the person who put out a piece of poo thinking it was a chocolate kiss. 🙂
