I Got a Sunburn My First Day
After a Virginia windstorm that knocked our power out for 5 days, a two hour plane trip and an uber ride from a Cuban-American that Joe spoke Spanish to, he crashed on Madeira Beach, proving how much he needs a vacation.
This is the doorway to our backyard.
This is the front of our home-away-from-home hotel.
And these are our hotel neighbors.
The view is inviting and the pool is heated, I can attest.
At the beach, just a hop across the street, I’ve been watching sandpipers run along the shore like keystone cops. They make me homesick for my hometown beach in Hull, Massachusetts.
There are fishermen here, both the human and fowl kind.
And it’s windy enough to fly kites.
Strange how the sun sets over the gulf, not like up-and-down the east coast where the sun doesn’t set but only rises over the ocean. I’m looking forward to getting one of those exotic palm tree/sunset shots like the ones my sister Sherry and I loved when we were young and visiting our grandparents in Hialeah. For now, this one will have to do.

I am NOT showing this to My Beloved Sandra. I’m not afraid that she might book us a flight, I’m afraid she’d book us one-way only.
We got almost a foot of new snow yesterday.
Everything about me is green.

Wow! I am so glad you got to go away! The pictures are awesome! It must be fun to be in better weather.

Ola or Aloha?

That sunset is perfect — yup, I had the same feelings about sunset when we first came to FL. I’m glad you are having (had?) a good time. That looks like a great hotel and beach.
