The Nightlife @ FloydfestWILD
There’s a lot to see doing the late shift at Floydfest and lots of old and new friends to run into. Once again, I arrived in the evening so I could stay late and see the headliner, Foster the People, and the latest all-the-rage Greta Van Fleet, who had just come off a standing ovation gig on the Tonight Show.
There are lots of places for libations and conversation at Floydfest in between bands you’ve checked off your program, or if you just want a chair or a friend.
This is the Oasis around sunset during the day.
And this is it during the night. It was designed by artist Eric Davis as “an oasis in the middle of the wild” where people can go to relax.
There was plenty of time to see some of the sights and lights before the shows.
We love to visit the Silent Disco. Some years we’ve put on the headphones and danced, but this night we just watched the fun.
The moon was one of the sights of light.
This was the view on the way to see Foster the People on the Main Stage.
And these are some of the young Foster the People fans I talked to while waiting for the band to come on stage.
One of the girls said she and her friends come every year with their families and follow the Floydfest band announcements, then listen and find the bands they like. Judging by their screams Foster the People was one of them.
I could do a whole blog post Greta Van Fleet with all the pictures I took. They put on a dynamic stage show.
The band is out of Michigan and consists of three brothers and a drummer. Two of the brothers are twins.
They have a Led-Zepplin-meets-heavy metal sound and do lots of stage antics, like when one of the guitarists played his guitar backwards.
I’m getting ready for Day Three as I post this, and I do mean “day” because Saturday is family day for us.
See you up there. Lots of love. FloydfestWILD Thursday is HERE.
