Italian Riviera Immersion
After three days in Paris, we headed to Italy and immersed ourselves at the Cinque Terre village of Monterosso.
First, in the Porto Roca infinity pool (that’s a vineyard behind me and the trail for the walk to the next village which Joe hiked).
and then in the teal blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
We immersed ourselves in the views, like this one from the breakfast dining room at our hotel. You can see the handrail walkway down to the beach from our hotel on the right.
We were a long way up!
We ate at a tower overlooking the sea, watched locals play bocce ball and heard an Italian rock band play at the beachfront plaza.
There was no IPA in Paris, so we were happy to find a locally brewed one in Monterosso.
We also drank Limoncella made at one of the restaurants we ate at.
We hiked a couple hundred steps up to a statue of Saint Francis and an Old World church and graveyard.
On the third day, we packed up and took the train to the Italian countryside.
We were off to meet-up with our Floyd friends Rick and Donna, who live in the chalice of Santa Maria surrounded by mountains on the border of Tuscany (a post in itself), and before coming back to our airBnB in the Cinque Terre where we’ll be steps away from beach.
Ciao!

You (may/may not) know that I’ve been lucky enough to have acceptance/publication for the 1st 4 volumes in the Deadly Sins series being published by Pure Slush Books, but I haven’t begun on one for ENVY yet.
Your travels are providing fodder. Thanks
