Feasting and Fellowship at Dogtown
Not only did I enjoy a traditional Zephyr Farm Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, but I checked out two Floyd Community Thanksgiving potlucks ala’ Alice’s Restaurant. One was at Tuggles Gap Restaurant on Thanksgiving Day (more soon) and this one at Dogtown Roadhouse last week. Some of the pictures posted here first appeared in The Floyd Press on November 21, 2018.
Dogtown Roadhouse’s third annual Thanksgiving Community Potluck was well attended, despite the pending icy weather predictions. The Dogtown team posted on Facebook that they’d provide to-go boxes of food if the weather turned, but bad weather held off during the 5:30 to 9:00 event.
The venue provided turkeys and soft drinks, and attendees brought potluck side dishes and desserts.
Attendees were required to bring a donation for the Plenty! food bank.
Community members held hands during a pre-meal blessing that was led by former Roadhouse co-owner Scott Smith. Local musician Seph Custer entertained attendees from the Dogtown stage.
Let the feasting begin!
