Aptly written, Colleen. The “moon’s phased escape” here around Houston signals the return to senses of the horrible drivers under it’s influence. They have been pulling out in front of cars, cutting folk off while driving, and sometimes making obscene gestures.

Ah yes the moon has left us .. only to return again weeks later as the “Wolf Moon,” ? I find it to be a constant companion of the muse. Happy New Year! ❤

I enjoyed this. It is succint and mysterious, with an interesting metaphor.

I’m chuckling at delight in reading the comments, because honestly, there are some gem poems fashioning themselves here. 😉
Lovely poem Colleen – the moon is an endless source of wonder, even when she has turned her back on us for a brief spell. Then we must use our cat’s eyes to sense the way through.

The image and metaphor here come to their fruition in the brevity of words and the piquancy of thought. Beautifully done!

Send that Muse my way, PLEASE. I’m tired of working on stuff in the “Works In Progress” file; need something NEW to chew on.
