Medicine Wheel Moon

The sun plunges low
Jets trail like tribal arrows
Vultures circle like warriors
and startled doves cry
The moon meets the horizon
like a sacred hoop rising
Like a white buffalo omen
Dreamcatcher of hope

How could one not fall in love with a moon (or anything) that offers hope?

We can always get a sense of reassurance with so many natural things such at the moons light and seas waves and the ripplings waters of flowing streams. There is is always so much beauty all around us that we take for granted. Beautifully written.

Sorry to be late with this response. Life!
Love this imagery of the West in this so much! May I make a suggestion? Try turning some of your similes into metaphors. Maybe “warrior vultures,” “the moon’s sacred hoop,” etc. I think it makes your wonderful images even stronger.
