A Monarch Migration
One by one, the monarchs are passing
like hikers on the Appalachian Trail
Like tourists waving goodbye to admirers
on their way to the next town
They fly by like models down a runway
flashing their high fashion style
In a fall show marking summer’s close
they sail the wild blue as they go

I never think of their trek once summer is gone, like the hummingbird. They are just not here any more. Now I will miss them more.

Another season passes by. For us up here, its the geese flying south.

It’s such an amazing move, and we all learn what it means… the season passing.

We’ve been getting a few more monarch visitors this year. I wonder if previous visitors have got the word out there’s certain food in our yard for them.
