13: The Write Type
1. I recently had a beer called “Literally Wrote the Book.”
2. Here’s what I wrote in a journal in 2003: You spend the first half of your life in input – learning, receiving and taking it all in – and the second half of your life in output –turning all you have taken in into something meaningful.
3. Molasses Cookies Go Great with Oatmeal Stout HERE.
4. I think some of the brewers of these beers might have been drunk when they named them: “Citra Ass Down” from Against the Grain Brewery. “Barbarian Streisand” from Cellarmaker Brewing “Pathological Lager” from Dock Street Brewing Co. “Hoptimus Prime” from Ruckus Brewing Co. and “Hauling Oats” from Tenaya Creek Brewery.
5. I’m a housewife poet.
6. I’m more of a reporter than an advice column preacher.
7. But on the other hand, I’d be a terrible court reporter because I like to cover stories that are inspiring, ones that show kindness, open-mindness, people contributing something positive or standing up for what’s right… And sometimes activism comes in the form of reporting other peoples’ activism. – More from A Story Within a Story, a 2008 blogpost HERE.
8. For me, as a writer, there is no calm before the storm. More like breakdown before the breakthrough.
9. In my poetry collection, Packing a Suitcase for the Afterlife, and my new works in progress for, Objects are Closer Than They Appear, I let the psyche guide the itinerary through the landmarks of foundational memories and the transcendent guidance of dreams.
10. A High IQ: The moon shines / outside the box / With a genius of light / it gets through to the dark.
11. “No one who does not know himself can know others. And in each of us there is another whom we do not know. He speaks to us in dream and tells us how differently he sees us from the way we see ourselves.” C. G. Jung
12. I was well ahead in a recent game of Scrabble until my friend Chris played the word “czarinas,” a SCRABBLE BINGO on a triple word score that she went out with. Her whopping score for that one word (which means female czars) will go down in history: 138 after she added our left-over points!

Tried to thank you for your comment at (probably) the All Seasons post, but I got a blank page saying your blog didn’t exist anymore (probably because of weak internet connection, since we had snow and I live at 3000 feet. Glad I reached you via lady’s Fi blog. Thanks for your kind comment!

Hi Colleen.. Yes I’d read yours. An interesting list but couldn’t figure out your Category for your list. I’m dense, I guess..

Ha Ha! There is no specific category. You might call it “random.” I’m one the few (maybe 2 of us) who started doing the original TT’s back around 2006, I think. The idea was to share 13 things about yourself so bloggers could get to know each other better. The category lists came much later. I like to use the TT opportunity to tie up lose ends and review the week. I have over 700 of them.

Your Scrabble buddy is a genius at least at that game! And you are at least that with your poetry. I don’t even ever actually feel qualified to comment, but I do save many. (You do realize you’re giving us a huge gift by making them available here before you publish??).

Thank you, Sallie. I think of the poems posted here as here today gone tomorrow, so I like to collect them up and put them all in one place (books hopefully).
