Fairy Tale Fog
I’ve always loved fairy tales, and the one I identify with most is Hansel and Gretel because I’m always leaving breadcrumbs to mark my way.
Today the garden was mud and I took a walk in the woods and wondered if I’d see a bear.
Funny how Hansel and Gretel was published by the Grimm brothers and the story is grim, about abandonment, being lost in the forest and a witch in a gingerbread house. The original Goldilocks and the Three Bears, which was not published by the Grimm brothers, was grim too because Goldilocks didn’t always get away.
I’m pretty sure our neighborhood catbird gave me a wolf whistle.
And the wood thrush plays hard to get.________Wild Bird Wednesday

It looks so otherworldly and the birds make it sound that way too. Fog always feels hushed to me. Since you can’t use your eyes as well you need to use your ears more. Quiet to listen.

Sometimes you just want to sit back and take in all the sights and sounds. You have a special little slice of magic garden. Thanks for sharing.
We have several brown thrashers that appeared (first noticed, anyway) this year. A little shy so I can’t seem to get a picture.

Marvelous bird sounds. I laughed at the wolf whistle.

I think foggy photos are extremely beautiful! There’s something special about fog.

I love pictures through the fog. I have a favourite one on our lake that created a fog bow. Until then I never knew they existed. – Margy
