13: From the Heart
1. Heart and earth are the same word with the letters mixed around, which makes me wonder if the earth is the heart chakra of our galaxy.
2. I wrote THIS poem while waiting to get my haircut after 4 months because they had no magazines to (touch) read at the hairdresser’s shop.
3. Last night I dreamt I drove to an unknown house and went up the back stairs where I had an appointment to go to an upstairs room where people were being humanely killed …. because, well, we’re all going to die anyways. People with shingles got to go first before they had to suffer the pain of having them. I was also covering this place and procedure for a story. I also really have a mild case of shingles and decided in the dream that it wasn’t bad enough to die about.
4. On Monday, I had my first online virtual doctor visit.
5. “Left to our own devices” takes on a whole new meaning in today’s plugged in world.
6. Things have been pretty pandemic mellow with not much going on. The most exciting thing that happened this week was I spotted two flickers in the yard. It was my first time seeing a flicker. Look how pretty they are HERE.
7. “The most heart-warming story was of the 12-year-old black girl who stood in front of a gathering of 200 people and told them that she was afraid at school. She was bold. As a student, she properly talked to her mother for support then, confronted the boy with the confederate flag, and her teacher, to no avail. Her voice was not heard until yesterday. THAT’s why we came together as we did. “HER LIFE MATTERS!” HER SAFETY MATTERS”! And, then, and then! A little 7-year-old white girl, accompanied by her mother, gifted the young black girl with her poster. “Blak is Beautiful” with shiny gold trim. That was when my heart busted open, tears streamed! -More from our town’s recent vigil in solidarity with This is What We’re Up Against HERE.
8. It’s all bumper cars / hitting and running / and the same old / merry-go-round / we can’t get off / It’s all about the photo-op / the selfie, the selfie / smoke and mirror fun house / and the dizzy spin of news… Read Day at the Park in its entirety HERE.
9. A Poem: Each word is like a button that must fit the button hole, whether you choose to leave your clothes opened or closed.
10. Barcelona Opera Reopens With An Audience Of Plants: That’s the kind of headlines that get my attention. More HERE.
11. Sadly, we live in a time “where we listen to comedians and laugh at politicians.” -Sharik Harib
12. I don’t hoard toilet paper
13. The living heart can hear what the ears sometimes won’t and the soul clearly knows what the mind tends to doubt.

This is great TT! Yet, I have noticed lately you are ahead of time and post on a Wednesday! I think it should now be the WONDERS OF WEDNESDAY! Although you might end up doing it on Tuesdays so you will be ahead of the game/ or not forget!
I love how Earth and HEART are same letters as I like the fact that the name PIDGEON has GOD in it!

I put it up early cause I don’t post as many posts as in the days of the blogging height, and I like to leave it up for a couple of days. I still link to others who are blogging 13 Thursday. Wednesday is Wordless Wednesday but I’m not usually that quiet.

Yes, it’s sad right now, as you said in #11.
11. Sadly, we live in a time “where we listen to comedians and laugh at politicians.” -Sharik Harib
I’m still trying to come up with what to say on my blog today. Maybe I’ll do another Thursday 13 tomorrow. My thinking seems to be in bits and pieces today, rather than one complete whole about anything.

13 Thursdays are a great forum and way to tie up loose ends.

Yeah…telemedicine is for the birds. I just had my 1st as well. With a Specialist who usta be a visiting physician at the (semi-)local hospital no less. My limited bandwith (or whatever the technicality) apparently only let about every 6th word Ii said get through to her, which wasn’t all that different anyway since she always took the position that what-the-doc-has-to-say is of far greater importance than anything that the mere patient might have to offer. Thank God, no follow-up for 6 months!

Mine worked great for diagnosing a rash.

Hi,
Great thoughts…really like #13..makes so much sense if you think about it. Have a great day!

oh #7… my heart is crying every day, tears of rage at injustice and waste of hating each other rather than growing in knowledge from each other. Sharing strengths.
Your salon poem was very stirring,
I love coming to your blog… the hydrangea heart is gorgeous! It’s lovely to see relateable objects in nature

I have to say, I am especially glad you let us know you don’t hoard toilet paper. That is an important thing to know.

Last night I dreamt I was in Target and reminded myself to check out the toilet paper aisle. If I’m interpreting the dream interpreters correctly, I’m ready to clean up something in my life. Sounds about right. 🙂

That flicker is lovely! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one if person here in Illinois.
I don’t get the toilet paper hoarding. At all.
