4th of July 2020
There were no fireworks in Floyd this year, but our waitress at the Dogtown Porch bar brought the July 4th spirit.
A family of kids put on a show at the Warren Lineberry Park to the bluegrass tunes of Junior Sisk, Jesse Smathers, Sammy Shelor and Barry Collins coming from the Floyd Country Store Concert on the Lawn, their second live outdoor event, small and pandemic style.
There were no fireworks in Floyd this year, but we still saw some fire on the mountain and sang Goin’ Down the Road Feelin’ Bad, a.k.a. Lonesome Road Blues.

Sometimes it’s nice to be free of noisy fireworks that are hard on wildlife. Looks like local creativity and natural wonders were more than enough to celebrate the occasion.
