The Christmas Star
We went out last night to see the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn that hasn’t happened in 800 years – aka as The Christmas Star and said to be the star that guided the wise men to Jesus – but it was too cloudy. I did a little research and found that the Christmas Star can be viewed in the south west part of the sky around sunset but only for about an hour before it sets (around 4:30 to 5:30). Winter Solstice was said to be the perfect alignment, but the planets will be close until around January 7, so we’ll try again. The picture here was taken Friday, 3 days before the Solstice, and although the crescent moon looks blurred and full, you can see the two planets getting close. / Our World Tuesday

Happy hols and stay safe!
