Roasting 2020 Toasting 2021
There wasn’t a lot of glitter and there were no throngs of dancers on the floor at Dogtown’s New Year’s Eve Pre-party. But we did a few twirls, sways and spins with our masks on next to our reserved corner table. My friend Juniper posted on Facebook, “How we will remember 2020!! I have officially made 615 Masks.” Ours are some of them.
The music was live-streamed for those who stayed home. There was a champagne toast and a few good riddance words for 2020. “We are coming very close to closing out the year together, as close as we can get, which I think is 10 pm,” said Music Road Company’s Janiah Allen who led the toast.
The bands were great (with some special spotlights on local young virtuoso musicians) and our spirits have been lifted. We were home by 10:30 in time for a real-time NY kiss.
