The Older Poet
I can’t drink tea
on an empty stomach
Can’t bring lilacs in the house
because the fragrance is too strong
When my husband gets bored and restless
he thinks about changing jobs
I just change the color of my nightgown
But is has to be silk

Oh, you make me fantasise about silk nightgowns! (Though in reality I choose comfortable cotton jammies.)

I’m a jumper over pyjama bottom kind of girl – too cold for nightdresses!

With the temperature in parts of Australia over 100 degrees F today; wearing any clothes to bed sounds awful!

I’m a hooded fleece over pyjamas gal.
I can see the draw of silk when the weather gets warmer…

silk regulates heat. I sleep in silk in the summer and winter.

Oh, pink nightgowns! Sounds so sensual. The last time I wore one was 14 years ago.

Ah … yes, silk. You are deserving.

Ah, you made me chuckle! I love silk, but am prone to fleece more often than silk–but we can all dream

My era of silk nightgowns ended long ago, but I enjoy reading of yours!!

I didn’t know that about silk regulating heat. Hmmmm… perhaps I should invest in a set of silk jammies. LOL, my pajama budget has gotten bigger since I don’t need as many regular clothes in this pandemic.

We all have our quirks (and needs), don’t we? Also, I feel better knowing I’m not the only one who can’t drink her morning beverage (coffee) without eating something first. I do love it when our differences can make us so just how similar we are.

Fine-strand, long-fiber Egyptian cotton can be wonderful against the skin Colleen — but yes… silk! Those little worms do splendid work, as you did with this piece… 🙂
