1. Joe asked me on Saturday if I wanted to play Scrabble. “I’m game!” I answered.
2. Deli or Delivery?
3. Maybe the best thing that’s come out of the pandemic is Joe playing Scrabble with me after 30+ years of not.
4. “When the virus is beaten back and we are free to mingle again, I plan to go on living the small life we’ve led for the past year. I’ll go visit my London family and my wife’s cousins in Stockholm but home is where my heart is and mainly what I learn from travel is that wherever I go, I don’t belong there. I go to Paris and realize I’m not French, not even close. Same with Florida, the land of yellow pants.” -Garrison Keillor
5. I still pahk the cah in hahvad yahd.
6. English is weird: Minute and minute shouldn’t be spelled the same. I’m not content with the content. I object to that object. Someone should wind up this post and throw it in the wind. Excuse me but there’s no excuse for that. I need to read what I read again. – Meme seen on Facebook
7. I once used the word windy (as in a winding road) in a poem and someone thought it was windy (as in breezy).
8. Imprinted stills /Proof of life / Picked up at the corners / and held to the light / A body of work / made of muscle and flesh / A lost art developed / from a landmarked distance… Read Poetry from the Darkroom in its entirety HERE.
9. The hen we bought is a rooster.
10. “We landed in Shannon airport, having missed a whole night’s sleep, to the shock of driving on the “wrong” side of the road. Leaving the airport we saw a “Tinker” settlement, aka “Travelers,” Ireland’s gypsy-like poor and once nomadic people… The bread is better in Ireland, and so is the beer, and the bathtubs (They’re bigger!)…” Excerpt from my 1999 travelogue from our trip to Ireland HERE.
11. This is happening now.
12. Even I could make THIS St. Patrick’s Day hat.
13. These Special Bees Craft Nests from Flower Petals. See HERE.

“Girls” from my painting class have created a Scrabble club, we are 5 and make a round once it’s my turn then the next and always followed by cake and coffee ! Even during the lockdown (we are still in half lockdown) we broke the rules and played but always the same girls. With travelling you will have to wait for a long time, Nearly all European countries have closed their borders and some, like Italy is again in full lockdown (the 3rd) !!

Crocus! I don’t have any of those, but my daffodils are blooming.
The best thing I’ve done during the pandemic is stop biting my nails. I keep them trimmed very short, but I did stop biting them.

This was, as always, fun and also as always I learned from it (and your previous posts when I caught up. ) Your thirteens are always the perfect mix. Of appreciating the now and remembering the past … and of whimsy and thoughtful.
