13 Thursday is Like Riding a Bike
1. Lately, I’ve been flipped out, meaning vertigo is back.
2. I’m Always Up for Music Road Company @Dogtown, and by “UP” I Mean Dancing. See HERE.
3. This is the time of year when I rake out flower gardens and have the inflated sense of confidence that I won’t lose control of the weeds.
4. What to do about lady bugs? They don’t fly away home but live in droves in mine.
5. Joe bought a book with a chapter about Karl Jung’s work with his Red Book (that involved an inner and experiential work on his psyche). All the pages in the book were placed correctly except for that chapter, which was upside down. He called to get an exchange, but then realized it was a happy mistake that he was able to appreciate the humor in, so he kept it.
6. Joe’s last name is Klein but it’s also the name of a bicycle company. Check out what his shirt says.
7. Cash in your gold / Don’t just spin it / Don’t reinvent the wheel / Don’t spoon-feed words / into someone else’s mouth / Don’t walk a mile / in stolen shoes / Don’t wait for the U / to use the Q / Don’t take shortcuts / or use your notebook / to still a shaky table… Read To Write a Poem in its entirety HERE.
8. For a while in my ‘20s a bike was my only transportation to and from work. I used to think of it as if it was a horse and when I was ready to stop, I’d say “whoa.”
9. With the flick of a switch the daffodils are lit.
10. I’m considering watching the movie I just heard about called “Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets.” It sounds sad but happier than “The Dead Poets Society.”
11. I’ve posted 799 Thirteen Thursdays since I started blogging in 2005.
12. The only blog category higher than Thirteen Thursday is Photo Journal at 865. Just under Thirteen Thursday is Poetics at 601 posts, followed by Where I Live (Floyd posts) at 528 and Floyd Press Stories at 492. The rest are near 100 or less. I guess that says a lot about me.
13. “I have already lost touch with a couple of people I used to be.”– Joan Didion

I’m on my 701st TT post, although I’m not sure I have all of them marked because when I first started using Blogger in August 2006, they didn’t have labels yet. You are the TT queen.
