We’re Back in Business!
I think my friend Steve wanted me to look at his T-shirt but all I could see was his nachos.
We were at a memorial show at Dogtown for our friend Mark Proctor, who recently died in a car crash. It was also a fundraiser in Mark’s honor for The Floyd Country Store’s Handmade Music School scholarship program, seeing how Mark was a big supporter and a player of local music.
It was also the first time in a year that we had a dance floor and didn’t have to dance at our tables with masks on. We were so excited about that! C. C. Coates and company. Every dance. Two hours. Woo hoo!
That’s Mark at a Halloween Costume dance-off at Dogtown Roadhouse in 2019 and HERE is a the story I wrote about Mark’s (a native American) initiating a community Thanksgiving potluck at Dogtown.

What a fine way to honor Mark who lived life well it appears. It is so sad to hear of his loss. We forget there are other dangers besides Covid.

Maria’s last sentence in the comment above says perfectly what I was thinking. I’m sorry for the senseless loss of this good man. But it is wonderful that Dogtown could welcome his friends to the celebration of life.
