Depth Psychologists
-For Katherine
We dig
and hit pay dirt
A vein
that shines
when polished
that runs
through the gray
of granite
A soul’s inheritance
Awakened subconscious

I think this is l wonderful! The brevity which yet says so much, the extension and development of the earthy metaphor through the first three verses, the whole as an apt description of the best therapy, and the culmination taking even beyond mental health into the spiritual and/or fully realised.

I’m feeling rather like grey granite this morning. Maybe it’s time to do some digging…

A lot of times we don’t want to dig too deep, in case it’s not pay dirt, but monsters we unearth. Get past them and we’re better off. You put it so nicely.

I keep TRYING to convince myself that ALL dirt is pay dirt, CR, but these days one must dig, and dig, and DIG to find a worthy vein.
Beautiful work, CR.

I seem to remember the term “depth charge” from some submarine story oro ther, but it came to mind when I read your title, and seemed applicable!

Art & Craft Shows are so nice! I used to be a vendor for several years – a line of products I used to sell. Now I just like attending…but…few and far between these days.

Good title, really adds meaning. What shines when polished.

This is was therapy should be like. Or how it should be understood. I love that it implies that one must work to get results.

I feel that this is what means to “get to the root of the problem” or the “heart of the nut”
When one finds what they are digging for, then the polishing begins.
Thank you for these thoughts
