We Call It Nights of Grief and Mystery
We all went down the dark road heading out of town with Stephen Jenkinson and the band because these are the times we live in and Jenkinson is a truth teller and literary spell maker.
It was a grand shamanistic ritual of altered proportions, a Grandin Theater performance of poetry, storytelling, rock and roll and stillness, with questions posed.
How did you happen? What time is it? It’s the high tide of the inner life where love is the prize, where we visit our regrets, and pray at their altar. “Don’t add another stone to the pile,” he says. “Can we all get over this idea of getting back to normal?”
I wish I could remember more but, like a dream and without pictures or audio, it lives in the subconscious now. I do remember this:
“Don’t hope to be worthy. Get worthy. That’s what time it is.”
