When Virtual Reality Becomes Reality?
Joe and I just became very excited about the new Amazon SciFi series “The Peripheral,” not only because it’s an exciting movie-quality SciFi premise where Avatar meets Free Guy but because our son Josh and his wife Emily’s Old Marshall Jail in Marshall NC shows up prominently within the first 10 minutes of the first episode!
Not only that but Joe and I just happened to be there last October (21) when they were filming the series.
We didn’t meet the star actress Chloe Grace Moretz, but we watched her ride her scooter bike across the bridge in front of the jail and through the back streets of the small town.
Set in the near future (2032) in the Blue Ridge Mountains (including Marshall) and 2099 in London, the show, made by West World creators, is based on a novel by legendary science fiction author William Gibson.
Joe and I watched 1 ½ episodes last night and are hooked and now our own past and present have converged.

How cool is that!? I saw the trailer and premise. Very compelling and so neat that the town and more importantly “jail” made the cut. 🙂

I absolutely love the Peripheral as well and cannot wait for the next season!! This is awesome. I’ll have to rewatch that first episode to see that jail!
