Poetry is Unlisted
Poetry pings
but doesn’t pick up
It can’t be tracked
and doesn’t call back
Sometimes it pocket-dials
as an unknown caller
whose voicemail you listen to
over and over

I don’t pick up, if they leave voice mail I call back. If I wish to. How does that fit, too far off I’m thinking.

There’s so much delight in the moments it does make a connection. It makes up for all the dropped calls.

Yes… sometimes it just comes, and at others, poetry just hides in the shadows.

A fun comparison! Poetry can be elusive as well as a frequent caller. Nicely done.

Nice, we are lucky if it does that, instead of being silent.

Interesting metaphor. I do hate when poetry ghosts me though…
