Morgan Goes Ryman
Morgan Wade, our Floyd hometown star, explained to her audience how playing at the Ryman auditorium was a bucket list item come true.
It was for me too, at least seeing Nashville for the first time, and it was Morgan’s gig at the Ryman that got us here.
It’s a great venue, once a church and then a longtime past home of the Grand Ole Opry.
The staff was helpful but also not rigid and I appreciated them allowing me to move around a bit to get some decent picutures.
The stage show was exciting and Morgan was in great form.
It was a sing-along sell-out crowd.
During the last quarter of the concert, I got a miracle seat. I had gone down the middle front to get one good shot and a woman gave me her VIP seat!
Morgan spoke to the crowd, joked about working hard to learn the lyrics to You Oughta Know that she performed with Alanis Morrisette at the televised CMT awards, and then it turned out there were teleprompters. “No one told me.”
She also expressed her deep appreciation for all her fans who follow her on tour and for her managers who support her.
She closed with a rousing performance of her big hit “Wilder Days” (which I first heard at Charley Coleman’s birthday party in 2019) More photos and videos to come. Meanwhile you can type in “Morgan” on my sidebar search engine (on the right) and see all the Floyd Press and blog post coverage I’ve done on Morgan since her first stage show at Floyd’s Dogtown Roadhouse will.
