76 Trombones
It was our friend Starroot’s 76th birthday and I couldn’t get the song “76 Trombones Led the Big Parade” out of my head. I wanted to sing it to her instead of “Happy Birthday.”
The UFO cake (made by our Outer Space friend Barbara) was a celebrity that everyone wanted a picture of.
Starroot said that even more than celebrating her birthday, she was celebrating living in Floyd longer than living in her native Germany. 
Some people have stocks and bonds. We have Rootstock, Starroot’s annual birthday bash and Floydstock (coming up soon).
There was good potluck food and good conversation. Thanks to my friend Mara for this shot.
And there was dancing. Sorry we missed Starroot’s band that played after this one.
Some went swimming in the pond.
