Five for the 4th
No fireworks this year, but we had a special guest player for our Tuesday Scrabble game, Chris’s daughter Greta who was in town from California.
This is as close to getting on the Floyd Country Store stage as I’m ever gonna get.
Greta (the word great is in greta) and I go way back. We were a good Scrabble match, and we had a heartfelt catch-up in between plays.
We were neck and neck for most of the game and the winner (me this time) only won by a matter of a few points. I fittingly played the word poet but neither Greta or I saw the later high scoring “poetic” play. That was Mark. And to his credit, he didn’t give it away.
