Floydstock Rocks On: The Saturday Review
There were lots of outer towners at Floydstock, a Dogtown and town event scheduled to fill the festival gap after our beloved Floydfest got cancelled. Lots of tie dye could be spotted over the weekend, some with Floydfest logos.
And some wore this, ‘going to be historic’ shirt, designed by our friend Sylvester.
Blacksburg’s Jared Stout Band, always a dancing pleasure, was a Saturday ticketed feature.
There were lots of other bands and other happenings throughout town, arts, rec, vending, food trucks, most of which I didn’t get to check out. I did stop at Outer Space and talk to my friend, ceramic artist, Rita Brown and admire her transcendent pottery works.
There was a great turnout for Floyd’s own Music Road Co, who performed a free concert in Lineberry Park as part of the Floydstock event town offering.
So many familiar smiling faces. So much dancing!
I joked that my Saturday Floydstock wrist band was my Barbie wrist band, so pink! Check out my Barbie poem HERE.
Their 8:00 set came just after a downpour.
I love this shot of Elizabeth (left), one of the Dogtown owners, who was dancing with our mutual friend from Floyd’s Woodsong community.
Saturday’s late-night ticketed headliner, Big Something, which I kept calling Something Big, was something otherworldly.
A blow-out!
Do I have enough energy for Isaac Haden’s set today in the Dawghouse? I hope so.

Looks like a lot of fun. I’m not sure I’d pay $225 for two days unless being out in the open is free.

We had a ceramic artist friend, sort of, an Astronaut’s (Owen Garriott) wife. We have two of her Moon Jars. Her shop was down in Kemah. Also had a Sun Jar but our granddaughter broke it. I still have the pieces.
We like Tomball, going through at least, and eating there. It is still smallish but growing fast. There’s a toll road headed north out of Houston through there now.

$225 was for a four day pass. You could buy single days plus there were free bands in the park.
