Lost in Pulaski
Someone mentioned The Twilight Zone. I called it an Escape Room Scavenger Hunt.
After a 50-minute drive from Floyd, we arrived at the Crest Hill Tearoom in Pulaski with a reservation to celebrate our friend Katherine’s birthday, tea party style. But the reservation got mixed up and was made for another Crest Hill Tearoom in northern Virginia. The Pulaski tearoom was closed.
The town was pretty dead. For one thing, it was Sunday, and for another, quite a few of the downtown storefront businesses looked boarded up like they had gone out of business.
Everyone got on their phones to look for another café or restaurant to eat at. The owner of the Crest Hill Tearoom, who was very apologetic for the reservation mix-up, recommended a place called Mochi’s Café.
Siri brought us here. It was empty and with no sign out front. I thought it was a strange Bridal Shop.
I call this our Abby Road moment. We walked up and down and in circles looking for the (or any) restaurant or café. We discovered that the Bridal Shop was Mochi’s, which the internet told us was a Café, Bubble Tea Shop, Asian Fusion Restaurant, but it too was closed.
Two strikes out! Hot and hungry, we headed out of town and hit a home run back in our hometown at the Parkway Grille.
There never was any tea, but there was a party. There was great food, hydrangeas, an orchid, poetry, a butterfly that flew from a birthday card, a chocolate mousse chalet cake, and someone had a margarita.
Happy Birthday, Katherine!

Wow! What an adventure for you guys!? It sounds a little like the time you went to the movie theater and the movies were all about no hard feelings, etc.
I was glad to hear the outcome of the day – Happy Birthday Katherine!

Oh, I forgot about that! Yes, like that but even more so…
