Christmas Tea for Three

I first learned about the Christmas Tea at Moonlight Manor B&B when I was taking pictures for the local paper of Floyd Christmas parade and saw the B&B owner riding a float dressed like Mrs. Claus and pouring tea.

That got my attention. I spoke to her as her float went by and she told me about the Christmas Tea on Sunday. And here we are, my friend Katherine, my husband Joe and me sipping our cups of Moonlight Manor tea.

Katherine and I are tea lovers who make it our business to visit every tea room and attend every tea party we hear about.

Katherine has hosted many tea parties with friends in the past and we both write and read poems about tea. Joe came along for the festivities and was interested to learn more about the Moonlight Manor as a possible place to hold retreats.

The spread of sweets and savory treats was impressive, the atmosphere warm and cozy and Jen and John Moonen, were great hosts.

‘I brake for tea’ or ‘I break for tea?’ Anyway you look at it, tea is my cup of tea.

We enjoyed a tour of the manor, located off the Blue Ridge Parkway across from the old Floydfest site, and ringing in the Christmas spirit together.
