Sunny Saturday’s Floydfest Horizon
If there ever was a Floyd house band that the local music lovers and dancers follow, it would be Music Road Co. They christened Floydfest’s Higher Ground stage with their funk, rock Latin and reggae songs at the start of the festival on Wednesday evening, then again Thursday night and Saturday at the VIP pub stage, where I finally caught up with them.
The Ambassador joined them for one reggae tune.
It was fun to spend some time with my son Josh who comes every year from Marshall NC and has been to every Floydfest since the first in 2002.

Meanwhile, the meet-ups with friends and good conversations continued.
We got to experience the Oasis Stage that some call the Pringle stage because of its shape. It projects light shows and the bands as they play.
The Sons of East, came all the way from Australia.
Their Brett Dennen/Luminers sound sensibilities drew us in and the light shows kept us put.
Are you ready for it?
We didn’t expect the Black Pumas’ lead singer to jump off the stage and mingle with the crowd up close and personal, but he did.
I could do a whole post just on The Black Pumas, their stage swag and energy was out of the box.
I could also do whole posts on the crowds…
with their bubbles, balloons and this.
Some Floydfest fun goes on too late for me (and Joe texts me the photo).
And some comes just too early.
