Christmas Morning
I want to wake up Christmas morning
like Ebenezer Scrooge did
and know there’s still time
I want jingle bells to chime
and not be drowned out by the sound
of Jacob Marley’s chains
I want the billionaire bah humbugs
of the world to be haunted
Shamed by Christmas ghosts
into epiphanies of conscience
I want the children fed and swaddled
and the poor among us sheltered
I don’t want our North star
to be mistaken for bombs of war
I want to wake up giddy
in a world spirit-blessed
where peace on earth
is our shared business

What you want is what I want, Colleen. Merry Christmas to you and yours. May your days be spirit blessed and a touch giddy, too!
