I Have No Enemies
Except for the dang squirrel
who drives away the finches
steals from the cardinals
and blocks the titmouses
I’m watching the robber
the same time our (supposed) leader
steals our country before our eyes
He does as he pleases
degrades checks and balances
desecrates the Constitution
like the Capital on January 6th
As the news comes in
I’m holding a broomstick
to knock out the culprit
to stand for the birds
But it empties the feeder
in less than an hour
when I leave my watch
to live my life
The ground is frozen
and all hell is broken
Some cheer for the robber
and fall for the grifter
while founding fathers
turn over in graves

There is scream in my chest. I want to let it out, but disbelief keeps crushing its throat. Is it rational to still disbelief? To see the rodent spoil everything and continue to want it not to be true? There is that scream again.

Remarkable how some have and still do root for the robber, giving him power even though he is no Robin Hood but the opposite … rich giving to the rich.

Appalling situation…affecting infecting the whole world. It has to be resolved. The founding fathers would never have envisaged this.

I have become increasingly cynical about politicians in general; however would rather have ours than yours at present. That being said, what happens in the USA has ramifications for the whole world, as Rall points out.

My nerves and stomach have been upset to the point where I cannot watch him on TV.
