Remember This on President’s Day

My friend Kamala and I signed up.

We went to add our voices to the writing on the wall.

The backdrop was a Trump merchandise store in Christiansburg, complete with propaganda filled billboards.

Someone counted 50 protesters. There were five anti-protestors when we got there.

As an adult I’ve not been much of an organized religion church goer, but this last few weeks since Trump came to (abuse) power might just be driving me to religion, and by that I mean to a renewed appreciation of the golden rule teachings of Jesus… Do Unto Others, Love Your Neighbor, What You Sow Your Reap…  which have never left my heart.

Two police officers came at one point to make sure we were not being harassed.

I joked to a friend that defending democracy has become like a full time job, especially now that it’s all out in the open since Vance spoke against democracies in favor of authoritarian dictatorships at the Munich Security Conference and the state and federal lawsuits against Musk’s unconstitutional agency invasions and firings are piling up.

Meanwhile, back at the Floyd ranch, my sign got a lot of coverage even when I wasn’t holding it.

Friends held down the fort and made their voices heard.

Thanks to a couple of young activist organizers.

My friend Joel’s sign was one of my favorite. Call 911.

Overall, I heard about or saw: one middle finger, one thumbs down and dozens of thumbs up and horn beeps with cheers in solidarity. So, a good day in the midst of so much chaos, loss and heart break.

Excellent Coll! This is a sight for sore eyes! Yes, the golden rule – treat others as you like to be treated ❤️We all need to call 911 – they need to be locked up literally !
