They’re Back!

After a 10-year hiatus (and a slight change in line-up), our loved local band The Deer Run Drifters are back on stage. I had seen them back in the day at Dogtown Roadhouse and on the main stage at Yoga Jam. They also played Floydfest in 2014 but I missed that.

The nice thing about a smaller venue like the Buffalo Mountain Brewery’s Tavern is that you get to sit in a comfy chair (not that I, as a dance lover, do much sitting) and you can easily talk to the musicians and make requests.

I requested Chris Link’s Nirvana’d and, although Chris (lead singer songwriter) told me they hadn’t rehearsed it, they played it!  It’s a song that our local star Morgan Wade sings sometimes too. HERE’S the band’s CD recorded version.

My husband Joe coached a couple of the band mates in soccer when they were in high school. It was a warm reunion for them and a full house of fans. We caught up with friends and enjoyed an IPA and a good smash burger from the Turner Family Farm food truck. I was told they’d be more Deer Run performances coming up. Check it out!
