like a broken heart

as it turned on and off
The clouds closed

providing privacy
before its glow
was exposed
as half the moon
it used to be

I really like what you did with this. Your extended metaphor at the end is so well written! This is so true as we grow older!

Lovely imagery.
Clouds as curtains, while the moon peeps out to expose its glow!
