13: Last Week’s Souvenirs

1. When I googled “unique rifle’ and ‘Kirk,’ Google’s AI overview gave me a rundown on Captain Kirk’s phaser rifle, created specifically to make the show seem more action-oriented.

2. I used to wear a button that said “Just Say Know” and a bumper sticker that said “Question Reality.”

3. Poem: Each word is like a button that fits the button hole in a poem that can be opened or one that can be closed.

4. “Someone asked me if I was ready for the fall. It took a second for me to realize that they meant Autumn and not the total collapse of society.” -Seen on Facebook

5. Godzilla Sunflower HERE.

6. If I was ever on America’s Got Talent, I’d be a judge.

7. Katherine’s and my poetry reading and workshop at Yoga Jam this year was “Mining the Gold Spending the Treasure,” and we saw how the inner gold accrues interest when shared. We had the most interactive audience since we’ve been doing our duo readings at Yoga Jam and other local venues. There were questions, comments, deep sharing and interest in the craft of writing poetry was discussed. We followed tender trails. We shared our soul work and explored the new horizons brought to light by allowing the aging process. And we were all the richer for it.  Watch some video clips HERE.

8.  When things fall, break, hurt or mess up, Joe growls a little and I scream a little.

9. “A healthy relationship will test you more than a toxic one. Because it won’t let you run. It holds up a mirror and says: Show Up. Communicate. Grow. That’s why real love scares people more than chaos ever could.”  Silent Writings,

10. “Calling bigotry an opinion is like calling arsenic a flavor.” Jack Cameron

11. My Dance Therapy is Group Therapy…

12. As a reporter, sometimes I get punked, like at the recent Mountain Valor Fest (story coming soon) that I covered over the weekend when I asked a band what their name was, one bandmate told me “the Party Animals,” which I took as truth and sent it to the paper (Floydtimes.com). But then I found out that the band’s real name is Crystal River Band.

13. “At the most profound level, you’re not just a person—you are a living fragment of the cosmos itself. Your body is composed of countless atoms, each one born in the fiery cores of ancient stars, scattered by supernovae, and shaped by time across billions of years. The carbon in your cells, the oxygen you breathe, the iron in your blood none of it originated on Earth. It traveled through space and time, through stellar chaos and cosmic beauty, only to become you. You are not separate from the universe. You are the universe—thinking, breathing, experiencing itself through human form. Every heartbeat, every breath is the echo of stars long gone, now alive again in your being. This isn’t just poetic—it’s real. You are stardust come alive, a miracle of space and time. A cosmic witness. A spark of something far greater…”  amarasimha raju
