DJing and Dancing Through the Decades with Sp_ce Boy

Our DJ Sp_ce Boy opened his dancing through the decades with Season of the Witch, which I take credit for suggesting.

I told him please don’t play The Twist. No one likes that song, and if you play Jeremiah was a Bullfrog, I might gag. I suggested I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1964) like I was a ‘60s expert, You Really Got Me by the Kinks (1964) Sam and Dave’s Hold On I’m Coming (1966) or Respect by Aretha (1967). Maybe next time.

Katie wore her hot pants and Artie did some stretches like it was yoga.

I sat out some disco and rap, but that’s me.  I stayed for the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s and even made it to some of the ‘90s..

The beat was strong and continuous. Rave-like, I guessed.  I may have never been to Rave before, but I did see Sly and the Family Stone live, and Carol King, who made a surprise appearance in the mix.

He didn’t play Beat It or Prince (that I could tell), but he did play two Christine McVie songs. Go figure.

Even Madonna. The floor was the best part.

I didn’t know what jelly bracelets were and no one passed around hula hoops. We poked around and let our hair down on Shakedown Street. That was fun. See you next time.
