13: Yoga Jam Wants You!
1. Floyd Yoga Jam wants you to know that the annual Labor Day weekend festival is an immersive wellness experience designed to inspire connection, healing, creativity, and presence through yoga, music, and community.
2. This is how I feel after a weekend of Yoga Jam. Aka: My kind of yoga.
3. I actually skipped Friday, day two, because Katherine, Starroot and I went to the Artemis Launch, the literary art journal that our work has been in. The launch featured U.S. poet laureate Arthur Sze.

5. I can’t help thinking about the museum art crowd finding a water bottle with a Grateful Dead Steal Your Face on it when they cleaned up after launch. I’ll miss it.

7. This might be my favorite photo from Yoga Jam this year. It’s so uplifting.
8. This is my worst. We had a storm come through on Sunday afternoon with hurricane-like gales and when I went to my car to drive home, this is what I found on it. The tent shattered the back passenger window, and now my back seat is filled with glass.
9. My fellow poet friend Katherine and my Ars Poetica (the Art of Poetry) poetry reading and workshop couldn’t have been better. We had a great turnout of participatory attendees who, after our reading, wrote on the promp “the personalization of poetry” with something like the following as an example: Poetry sleeps until noon / It never uses an alarm / It leaves crumbs / when it eats in bed / and only uses real butter…
10. For me, poetry is like dousing for a natural resource. I’m not afraid to dig deep and hit a nerve. In fact, I’m not satisfied until I do, and by and nerve I mean a vein of emotion that shows me I’m about to mine a truth.
11. Beth says, Poetry perches on the birdfeeder even when its empty. HERE Bobby says, Poetry wears a top hat and tips a cane HERE, Fin says, Poetry keeps a grudge just like it keeps a secret / Poetry says things and then overthinks it…

Sorry about your car. That looks painful. I’m glad it was otherwise successful, though. I hope you enjoyed the Artemis launch.
