13 Channels
1. New answering machine message: What’s your story, Morning Glory?
2. There’s more where that came from HERE.
3. Paradox: Why is an empty heart heavy and a full heart light?
4. While interviewing the owner of a new spa in Floyd, I discovered that cosmetology and cosmology are light years apart but I can’t keep the two words straight.
5. Sometimes while reading a newspaper story that continues on to another page I feel like I need a GPS system to find it.
6. The color of my blog is dictated by the word LEAF in the title and the fact that I’m Irish American.
7. When Asheville potter son son Josh was in town for Thanksgiving and the 16 Hands Studio Tour, he and Joe went down the mountain to babysit Bryce. I called them Two and a Half Men.
8. I repeated that line to my friend Karl who but it didn’t register. He doesn’t have a TV.
9. HD was touted as the latest thing in TV viewing, but since getting I lost the majority of my network channels and I’m lucky if I get one channel that comes in good. I don’t want cable or dish because of THIS.
10. I made a new friend whose name is Sarah Beth Jones and for the first couple of weeks after meeting her I kept calling her Sarah Jessica Parker. Joe has a colleague named Susan Stone that he calls Sharon Stone.
11. My writer friend Rosmary said she barely recognized me with my new notebook. She associates me, rightly so, with THIS one, a notebook I liked so much I bought a dozen, but have recently run out of them.
12. My new notebook may be boring but I’m lost without it. I left it at the Café del Sol after the Spoken Word night. When I went back the next day to get it, it had the above sign taped on it. So now it’s not so boring.
13. I once left a notebook in Applebees restaurant and when I returned an hour later to get it, I discovered it on the floor being used to steady a wobbly table!
The Thirteen Thursday channel is HERE.

When it comes to favorite scenes of mine from “Bye Bye Birdie”, the “Going Steady” musical number is tied with “I Gotta Lot of Living To Do”. “What’s the story? Morning glory. What’s the word? Hummingbird.”

So glad they did not throw away your notebook. Another writer I know lost a journal while traveling and, though there was a contact address inside, never got it back. Thankfully, though I always have mine with me, I’ve never forgotten/lost it anywhere. There would be much angst if I did.

Name That Christmas Song

I wish I had all of my notebooks from when I was very young. I have no idea what happened to them!
December 3rd, 2009 12:13 pm
You make me want to carry a notebook again for ideas and quick sketches. I quit after getting my first smartphone with all the bells and whistles of calendar and note software in it – even a recorder for quick voice notes!
There’s something about actually writing things down on real paper isn’t there?
My TT this week is The Best Part of CHRISTMAS PAST

I love “Bye, Bye Birdie” and absolutely LOVE the song Malcolm mentioned……..”Ive got a lot of LIVING to do”!! This is too funny, I just rented that movie so Nelson could see it. It was one of my favorites.

They did Bye Bye Birdie for a school play when I was in high school. It was a great play and I still remember the scenes and songs. Richie Dineen played the lead role, tough guy in a black leather jacket. It think it was about gangs. The musical movie came out in the early 60’s.

It wasn’t about gangs, that was “Westside story”……..”Bye Bye Birdie” was about a musical/teen idol. The girls were crazy about him, like Beatlemania!!!!! xoox
PS There is even a song…….we love you conrad oh yes we do!!!
PSS It came out in 1963 to be exact. The year Tricia was born.

Always love your TT13, Colleen….And here’s a really frightening thing: One can get 257 Channels on your TV now, and STILL….there is nothing to watch! Frightening! (lol) Maybe you have lucked out with not being able to get almost any!
