Double Brew
It must be my Irish DNA that makes me love tea over coffee and dark beer over wine.
A pub and a tea shop have a lot in common for those who enjoy a good brew.
I’m drawn by the intoxicating flavors, the alluring aromas, the warm and cold, the clear amber tones.
Whether assam, ceylon, pekoke, earl grey, or darjeeling, a china cup of tea is a pool of poetry, a remedy for whatever ails.
Whether stout, larger, hops, wheat, or ale, good beer is hearty food for my body and soul.
Both beer and tea pamper and nourish me. They call me to slow down and partake in the present moment.
Post notes: During my two week stay in Massachusetts, helping my mother who is recovering from a spinal fracture, I got a double treat My sister Sherry and her husband took me out to an Irish pub called The Snug (video HERE.) We listened to traditional jams, and I tasted some memorable beer on tap that went well with my order of Shepherd’s Pie. The next day Sherry surprised me with a trip down the Cape to the Dunbar Tea Shop. The house special was a pot full of black with a hint of apricot and almond, so good I bought some to take home and am drinking it now.

I just love being able to try to recapture a memory that was pleasant during a trip.

That’s why I love taking pictures because you get to relive things through them.

What a fun looking place – the tea shop. We have one near here, but it’s much too girly, with lace and fancy hats and bibelots.

if you can get it! It’s from a microbrewery in Nantucket.
Still working out the etiquette of taking pictures of people in public, as my latest 13 says: While taking pictures of unaware people walking the beach I began to wonder if shooting someone from behind with the camera is cowardly, the way shooting someone in the back is.
I answered myself the next night. “If people don’t want to pictures to be taken of them from behind they should stop looking so good walking on the beach. “
